Laser Treatments with Cambridge Micropigmentation Clinic
We are the only clinic in Cambridgeshire area to offer Xlase advanced laser treatments. Xlase is the world’s most advanced and versatile Laser and CPL light platform.
The Xlase Plus Diode laser provides permanent hair reduction using cutting-edge high-power diode technology. It guarantees a rapid, non-invasive procedure, with no downtime, able to treat all skin types (I-VI), as well as tanned skin.
The new frontier of Hair Removal XlasePlus Diode Laser applicator has been designed in response to the high demand for the removal of unwanted hair in all body areas. It offers the ability to treat large areas fast with high efficacy and comfort. Few short sessions, usually 3-5, are required in order to permanently remove hair, with just a few touch ups that may be required over time. Diode Laser hair removal is one of the most comfortable procedures for permanent hair removal. A slight discomfort may be sensed as the laser handpiece passes over the treatment areas, but no topical anesthetics are necessary for this procedure.
The Diode applicator is also considered the "gold-standard" of hair-removal lasers as it can be used to treat all skin types effectively and with the fewest number of treatments. No crossing over the same areas is required as with other hair removal procedures, making the treatment time even shorter.
How does Xlase Plus Hair Removal compare with other hair removal methods?
Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods that must be repeated on a frequent basis and none of those methods can successfully reduce ingrown. Diode Laser Hair Removal offers permanent hair reduction and treatment of ingrown hairs.
Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?
When using the laser diode in “motion speed modality”, the treatment is virtually pain free. Whit the other laser wavelengths, most people tolerate the treatment very well referring as it to be felt like an elastic band pinged against the skin. However, you should bear in mind that some people are more sensitive than others.
Does the diode laser work on tanned or dark skin?
The diode laser system safely and effectively treats all skin types (Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-VI) as well as tanned skin. For darker skin types and people with tan, appropriate parameters are set: generally lower fluencies and lower pulse lenghts are set to prevent epidermis damage. Using the appropriate treatment parameters, however, people with all skin types can benefit from diode laser hair removal.
Are the Results Permanent?
The diode laser is proven to work on hair removal and permanent hair reduction on all skin types and tanned skin. To achieve a satisfactory level of clearance, 3-5 treatments are typically required.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing
Fractional Erbium laser technology is able to treat the deep and superficial layers of the skin, being highly effective for the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, age spots, deep pigment, rough texture, redness, large pores and overall skin quality.
With the fractional technology, the laser ablates micro-thermal tunnels that are created deep into the skin, thus only a fraction of the skin is treated. The surrounding untreated tissue allows for a gentler treatment, with increased comfort and almost no downtime. The skin’s own natural healing process stimulates new, healthy collagen to be produced in the deeper layers to replace the columns of affected tissue. Once healed, skin texture and overall quality of the skin is improved. The results are gradual and improvements in the skin are visible up to 3 months post treatment.
How does Xlase Plus skin resurfacing work? The Erbium Yag laser is designed to offer the versatility of both deep and superficial, skin resurfacing. The wavelength of light emitted by the Erbium Yag is very well absorbed by water in the skin. Pulses of the laser vaporize lines, wrinkles, scars, dark spots and other irregularities, layer by layer. This process also stimulates the formation over time of new, underlying collagen to provide better elasticity and support for the skin.
Can Xlase Plus technology be used less invasively for treating milder indications? Erbium:YAG laser is indicated for mildly photodamaged skin lesions (eg, solar keratoses); mildly atrophic facial scars (eg, from acne or chicken pox); dyschromias (eg, melasma, lentigines); and mild-to-moderate facial wrinkles in the perioral, periocular, and cheek areas. Using longer and variable pulses, even patients with deeper wrinkles and scars can be successfully treated.
CPL Advanced Treatments
CPL technology provides a wide range of wavelengths for the treatment of a number of skin conditions.
CPL applicator, with a selection of cut off filters, offers a broad and effective spectrum for the treatment of unwanted hair and skin imperfections, with minimal patient downtime and risk of side effects.
CPL's dual mode filtering and square pulse technology are the key innovations enabling practically painfree treatment which differentiate CPL technology from many ordinary IPL.
Clinically proven to effectively treat unwanted hair, acne, rosacea, thread veins, fine lines/wrinkles, and the visible signs of sun damage, CPL treatments are gentle, offering gradual results, leaving your skin looking smooth, silky and radiant.
